Florida Smooth Jazz

The Florida Smooth Jazz Foundation Inc., a Florida nonprofit corporation, is a 501(c)(3) public charity that was founded by Cathy Powers in 2005, organized and operated exclusively for charitable and educational purposes. The Foundation promotes and produces music events for the greater good of the community, and supports activities fostering music education. Annual merit scholarships are sponsored by the Foundation for music students of Daytona State College (DSC) and have been previously provided for students of Eastern Florida State College (EFSC) since 2016. Donations to HAPCO Music Foundation and the Clearwater Jazz Holiday Foundation enable these organizations to provide music education for the youth of Central Florida and the Tampa Bay region.

Cathy and I have worked together since 2016 to promote Smooth Jazz in Melbourne and Daytona. What started as a single weekend of outstanding Jazz has morphed into an annual 3 day event with national talent at the Hilton Oceanfront Resort in Daytona Beach. 3 years ago she decided to expand her reach and has added a second weekend of Smooth Jazz in Daytona in conjunction with One Daytona. Instead of branding her concerts separately we decided that listing them under one site was more beneficial for her and her clientele.
